In Kyrgyzstan, specialists conducted an assessment of fertility among men suffering from urolithiasis and andrological disorders. The study was published in the journal "Healthcare of Kyrgyzstan" and was carried out by authors A. Ch. Usupbaev, K. N. Stambekova, and N. A. Abdubaitov.

Andrological diseases in Kyrgyzstan occupy a significant place among other diseases and show a tendency to increase, especially among men of reproductive age. However, the impact of these diseases on fertility remains insufficiently studied.

The main objective of the study was to assess the fertility of men with urolithiasis (UL) after urethroplasty, as well as in patients with inflammatory diseases of the genital organs and cystic changes in the testicular appendage. The study also aimed to identify markers of deterioration based on spermogram results.

As part of the work, four clinical groups of patients with various urological and andrological diseases were formed. Each participant voluntarily underwent an ejaculate analysis within a month after diagnosis, and the results were compared with a control group of healthy men living in the country.

“The results showed a decrease in fertility among men of reproductive age with various urological diseases based on key spermogram parameters, such as ejaculate volume, the proportion of normal sperm forms, their motility and viability, as well as the sperm quality index,” the study states.

“Regular monitoring of fertility in men of reproductive age with urological and andrological diseases may help reduce the risk of infertility and preserve reproductive potential,” the authors of the study conclude.
