Batyr Zhaliev (December 15, 1935, Kashgar-Kyshtak village, Osh district, Kyrgyz ASSR, RSFSR — May 30, 2020, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan) was a Soviet and Kyrgyz artist, awarded the title of People's Artist of Kyrgyzstan in 1993.

He graduated from the Frunze Art School in 1964 and became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR in 1968. From 1977 to 1982, he headed the Osh regional branch of the Union of Artists of the Kyrgyz SSR.

Zhaliev's work reflects the achievements of workers in both agriculture and industry. His paintings, such as "Industrial Osh" (1966), "Osh is Being Built" (1972), and "Haydarkan Combine" (1974), depict holistic images of workers in southern enterprises and their labor, highlighting the best traits of the working class of the republic. One of his most significant works is the genre-portrait canvas "Toguz Korgool" (1974). In graphics, he created artistic images of the Kyrgyz intelligentsia and developed an artistic form, as well as the painting school "Sizism" as an independent direction.
