One of the main areas of work for the commission has been the development of gasification. In accordance with decree No. 349 dated April 28, 2025, preferential loans of up to 150,000 soms are available for connecting homes to gas at an interest rate of 3% per annum (which is lower than the previous 8%). According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, more than 51,000 households in Bishkek have already gained access to gas, which has allowed for a reduction in coal consumption by 100,000 tons.
Additionally, under Cabinet of Ministers resolution No. 639 dated October 6, 2025, a ban has been introduced on the import, sale, storage, and use of bulk coal with a fraction of 0–13 mm in Bishkek and the Chui region. This restriction does not apply to enterprises engaged in the production of thermal energy.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Natural Resources conducts regular raids to monitor compliance with air quality standards. In 2025, 202 protocols were drawn up for exceeding emission standards by vehicles, with fines exceeding 3.7 million soms. During inspections of economic entities, 450 protocols were issued for a total amount of 9.87 million soms, and 3,795 entities were sent notifications regarding the need to comply with environmental standards.
The agency is also actively involved in creating the natural-ecological framework of Bishkek, aimed at improving the quality of life and the environmental situation in the capital.
