Although the sale of nasvai is not prohibited in Kyrgyzstan, this product is available in compact packaging and does not have a strong odor like cigarettes, which creates an illusion of safety. This makes nasvai particularly attractive not only to adults but also to youth and children.
The production of nasvai is not regulated by legislation, and its composition includes substances that can pose serious health risks. The Bishkek Health Strengthening Center warned about the destructive effects of nasvai on the body:
- Central Nervous System: increased irritability, distraction, depression, memory deterioration, frequent headaches;
- Cardiovascular System: narrowing of blood vessels, lack of oxygen and nutrients, heart rhythm disturbances;
- Gastrointestinal Tract: intoxication, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, gastritis, ulcers;
- Reproductive System: decreased production of sex hormones;
- Oral Cavity: unpleasant odor, burning and pain in the gums, tooth decay, formation of ulcers and sores.
There is also a risk of delays and various disorders in the physical, intellectual, and psychological development of children and adolescents.
