The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced the start of a nationwide month called "Be Responsible!". This initiative aims to identify risk factors for non-communicable diseases among men over 18 years old.

As part of this campaign, the ministry encourages men to seek preventive medical consultations at local primary healthcare facilities, such as family medicine centers, general practitioner practices, family doctor groups, and midwifery and obstetric points.

In 2025, during the campaign, more than 973 thousand men across the country underwent preventive screening for non-communicable diseases.

According to the ministry, elevated blood pressure was detected in 119.6 thousand men (12 percent). Additionally, 49.6 thousand men (5 percent) were in the high-risk group for cardiovascular diseases, and about 60.8 thousand (6 percent) had a high risk of diabetes.

It is worth noting that in 2025, 15.4 thousand people were registered for the first time with a diagnosis of hypertension, and 7.4 thousand with a diagnosis of diabetes. Cardiovascular diseases were the cause of death for 16.6 thousand people among the adult population of Kyrgyzstan.

This initiative was first launched in 2019 as part of the project "Effective Management and Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases in Kyrgyzstan," which is funded by Switzerland, and has since been conducted annually under the guidance of the Ministry of Health of the KR.
