As part of the new master plan for Bishkek, significant transformations are planned in the areas of transport infrastructure, urban planning policy, and functional zoning. The head of the State Enterprise "Bishkek City Architecture" Mederbek Kydyrmaev shared this information during a live broadcast on the "Kabar" agency.
Currently, the construction of the Northern Bypass Road, which covers a significant part of the city, is actively underway. In addition, the construction of the Eastern Bypass Road has begun from the village of Novopokrovka, which connects with the Northern Bypass and, bypassing the village of Kok-Zhar, heads towards the southern part of the capital. Work on determining the routes for the Western Bypass Road is also ongoing.
According to Kydyrmaev, the population of Bishkek currently stands at about 1,000,320 people, and this figure increases by 20-30 thousand annually. It is projected that by 2050, the population of the capital could reach 1,920,000 people. The master plan has been developed with this figure in mind, including the needs for housing, educational institutions, and jobs.
The document clearly defines the functional zoning of the city, including industrial and public-business zones, where the construction of residential buildings is not planned. In these areas, the creation of business centers, offices, and industrial facilities, such as assembly plants and enterprises in electronics and automotive manufacturing, is planned, which will help create new jobs and enhance the production potential of the capital.
Particular attention in the master plan is given to the creation of subcenters in each district of Bishkek. This, according to the head of "Bishkek City Architecture," should significantly reduce the burden on the central part of the city and the migration of residents. In the new districts, the construction of schools, kindergartens, apartment buildings, and business centers is planned so that residents can access necessary services close to their place of residence.
The issue of updating the housing stock was also discussed on air. Kydyrmaev emphasized that no forced evictions of residents from the central part of the city are being carried out. All projects are implemented on the terms of purchasing apartments or by agreement with the owners after appropriate negotiations.
The city hall emphasizes that the implementation of the master plan is aimed at the comprehensive and balanced development of the city, taking into account the growing population and the long-term needs of the capital.
