Not all collected funds are reaching the budget
At a recent meeting of the BGK commission, Kazybek Ergeshov raised the issue of the existence of a parking mafia that affects the income of Bishkek's budget. According to him, not all funds collected from parking go into the city's treasury.
According to information from the city hall, there are 45 parking lots in Bishkek, of which 23 are municipal. Additionally, there are over 3,000 parking spaces located near markets. The cost of the service is 25 soms per hour.
However, Ergeshov noted that parking at the markets costs 50 soms.
"I previously suggested a person willing to cooperate with the municipality and take the parking lots on lease. However, I was informed that contracts have already been signed until the end of the current year. There are your own schemes in place. Corruption is evident. This system needs to be exposed. A special commission should be created to conduct an audit," the deputy noted.
