The organization of this event was carried out by the Department of Agricultural Crop and Horticulture Expertise under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, in partnership with the Agrolid group of companies and the Kyrgyz Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture (KNIIZ).
Among the participants of the forum were seed-producing farmers from various regions of Kyrgyzstan, representatives of cooperatives, seed production farms both state and private, as well as experts from specialized universities and international organizations.
The main goal of the event was to emphasize the importance of seed production as a crucial factor for increasing the yield and competitiveness of agriculture in Kyrgyzstan.
During the discussions, special attention was paid to the need to raise farmers' awareness about the importance of high-quality seed material, attracting investments in this sector, and forming a systematic approach to its development.
The forum also became a relevant platform for discussing existing problems such as the shortage of high-quality seeds, outdated breeding methods, and insufficient cooperation between science, business, and government structures.
As part of the forum's program, panel discussions, presentations from practitioners, and a specialized exhibition of seeds and modern technologies took place.
Participants discussed issues related to the national seed production strategy, the implementation of new technologies in seed production, the role of cooperatives and private farms, as well as the importance of ensuring quality and certification of seed material.
At the conclusion of the forum, it was planned to adopt a resolution with specific proposals for the development of seed production and to sign a memorandum of cooperation in this area between the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Dutch company HZPC, and the Agrolid group of companies.
Thus, the forum became a significant step towards creating a sustainable, innovative, and competitive seed production system in Kyrgyzstan.
