In Bishkek, work on the street network repair, which was not completed in 2025, will continue in 2026. This was reported by Abdyzhaparkul Janbolotov, Deputy Director of the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure, on the air of "Birinchi Radio."

According to him, the plans include work on the southern side of Deng Xiaoping Avenue, as well as on Leo Tolstoy Street from Termechikova to Timur Frunze and on the section of Bakayev Street between Leo Tolstoy and Bokonbaeva.

“Some social media users claim that work on this section has been ongoing for four years. However, the excavation of Bakayev Street only began in November 2024. Last year, we would have completed the project if it weren't for the issues with relocating two gas lines. Gazprom has its own procedures, and they require project approval from Moscow. Additionally, there are difficulties with drainage, and we are currently working on building a sewer system,” Janbolotov added.

He also noted that the project faces other challenges.

“In 2022, some sections were transferred to private ownership, and they have red books. We are conducting explanatory work on this matter. Many believe that this section will not be beneficial, but in reality, we plan to continue it, connecting it to Beishenaliev Street. This year, we will continue the road excavation, including the construction of a bridge over Ala-Archa and the connection to Beishenaliev Street. With the arrival of warmer weather, we will begin asphalt work,” the official noted.

It is worth reminding that in 2026, the construction and reconstruction of 119 kilometers of roads and bridges is planned in Bishkek. Of these, 19 kilometers will be new roads, while 100 kilometers will be reconstructed.
