Residents of At-Bashi, located in the Naryn region, have initiated a proposal to grant their settlement the status of a border zone. This became known through the press service of the Ombudsman Institute.

This request was made during a meeting with the akyikatchi Jamileh Jamambaeva, which took place as part of her trip titled "Caravan of Rights."

According to the residents, each trip to the Ak-Sai pasture requires obtaining permission, which creates certain inconveniences.

“Once, during the Soviet period, our district was considered a border area, and this information was even reflected in passports. We are seeking help to improve our lives and ensure free movement in our homeland,” noted one elderly woman.

During meetings with the ombudsman, residents of At-Bashi and other districts of the Naryn region also raised important social issues such as labor migration, unemployment, child support problems, obtaining insurance payments, electricity outages, allowances for high-altitude conditions, the rise in cases of domestic violence, and issues of social protection for women.

Representatives of the akyikatchi institute reported that during these meetings, they provided legal consultations to 20 citizens and registered 15 applications.

The At-Bashi district is located in the southern part of the Naryn region and borders China.
