As part of the activities to prevent domestic violence, the head of GOM-1 Altynbek Chynberdiev held a meeting with a woman, a mother of five children, who had previously contacted law enforcement with a statement against her 30-year-old husband. The man was detained for several days. The woman noted that this was not the first incident, and her husband had previous criminal issues.
Despite what happened, she continues to live with her husband, claiming that there is now peace in their family.
A case of domestic violence was also recorded in the residential area "Ak-Ordo-3". The victim was granted an extended protection order. Her husband is unemployed and suffers from alcohol dependence, which leads to frequent conflicts. On the eve of the New Year, he attempted to attack his wife and son with a knife, and only the son's intervention prevented a tragedy. As a result, the police decided to send the man to a narcological institution for treatment.
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs called on the citizens of Kyrgyzstan to report instances of domestic violence during the holiday season.
