In Kyrgyzstan, there are 68 museums employing 1,291 staff members. In 2025, the museum sector restored 354 exhibits, added 2.2 thousand items, and over 25.2 thousand units underwent the digitization process.

On February 19, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy Soyuzbek Nadyrbekov reported at a meeting of his department's board that in 2025, the country's museums attracted more than 1.2 million visitors.

Four major museums, previously privately owned, were transferred to state ownership:

- The House-Museum of Alykul Osmonov in Bishkek;

- The Museum of Jusup Abdrakhmanov in the Issyk-Kul region;

- The Koshoy-Korgon Complex in the At-Bashinsky district of the Naryn region;

- The Art Gallery of Askar Salymbekov in the Naryn region.

Currently, the process of transferring the museum of akyn Moldu Niyaz in the village of Ak-Kiya in the Kadamjai district to state ownership is ongoing.

“An open fund was organized for the first time in the museum complex 'Sulaiman-Too', which simultaneously protects exhibits and showcases them to the public. Additionally, craft centers and four cultural and information centers designed for independent visits and guest education have been opened based on three major museums,” noted Nadyrbekov.

Furthermore, the deputy minister spoke about the "Month of Open Doors" campaign, during which more than 400 thousand people visited all the museums in the country last year.
