On February 23, 2026, the prosecutor's office held an extended interdepartmental meeting to discuss measures to combat cyber fraud utilizing internet technologies, as well as other crimes in the banking sector.
Present at the event were the prosecutor of the Manas district, Syrgabek Akylbek uulu, the head of the district police department, J. Toktorbaev, along with deputies A. Sharshenbaev, B. Alymkulov, and U. Zholdoshov, as well as the deputy akim of the Manas district, A. Batyrbekova, and representatives of banking institutions.
The discussion focused on the most common schemes of online fraud, including phone scams, manipulations through messengers, hacking social media accounts, compromising electronic wallets, and luring citizens into dubious projects with promises of high profits and low risks.
Particular attention was paid to measures for combating cybercrime in the context of rapid digital progress, emphasizing the importance of improving coordination between government agencies and the private sector.
As a result of the meeting, participants expressed their readiness for a joint and consistent fight against cyber fraud and high-tech crimes in the district. It was also emphasized that it is necessary to enhance the digital literacy of the population and inform citizens about potential threats online.
The Manas district prosecutor's office urges citizens to exercise caution:
- be careful when communicating with strangers online;
- do not share personal data, passwords, and bank card details with third parties;
- avoid clicking on suspicious links;
- inform your loved ones about potential risks of cybercrime.
The prosecutor's office also noted that in case of detecting signs of fraud, one should immediately contact law enforcement agencies to prevent possible damage.
