Cholpon Kulzhanova, a resident of the village of Ak-Kochkor in the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region, is a mother-heroine raising five sons and two daughters. In an interview with a Turmush correspondent, she shared her life story.

Cholpon, born on April 4, 1981, in the Alamudun district, enrolled in the capital's university to study "biologist-zoologist," a dream she had. In 2004, she successfully graduated from the institution and got married in 2005. Initially, the family lived in the capital, but soon moved to her husband's native village — Ak-Kochkor. Currently, their eldest son is 20 years old, and their youngest daughter is only two years old.

Cholpon shares: "I grew up in a family with three children and always dreamed of having a sister. A girl needs someone to share secrets with and seek advice from. Often, you don't want to upset your mom, so a sister would be very important. A year after our wedding, our first son was born, followed by two more. I dreamed of having a daughter, and after six years, we had a girl. Remembering my dreams, I decided it would be wonderful to give my daughter a younger sister, and after the birth of two more sons, we had another girl, which brought joy to the whole family. My husband has one sister; the rest are brothers, so we eagerly awaited daughters. I thank God for the honor of being a mother-heroine," she said.

The children are named Rasul, Ramis, Ramzan, Rabiya, Amir, Alim, and Raziya.

"The eldest son works as a cook, the second is studying at university, and the others are still in school. As a mother, I wish them a good upbringing, health, and for each to find their path in life. I hope that my older sons will meet good girls and create strong families," she says.

In 2025, Cholpon Kulzhanova was awarded the Order of "Mother-Heroine." "This is a great honor and responsibility. When my name was announced at the ceremony, I was very nervous. But for me, the main thing is that my children are happy, and that is the highest reward," she added.

According to Cholpon, the everyday life of a mother-heroine is full of activity: children's mischief and laughter fill the home with warmth. "I am happy when my children appreciate my efforts. Even if I haven't taught them to cook, they enjoy eating and say, 'Very tasty, mom, thank you!'. In a large family, the children grow up close-knit; the older ones help the younger ones and support me, becoming a support for each other," Cholpon noted.

In her free time, Cholpon enjoys sewing, creating outfits for her daughters and sons, paying special attention to the girls' clothing. Her daughter Rabiya, born in 2017, shows an interest in handicrafts. "The girls love flowers, and Rabiya started making them from different materials. I support her hobby by buying the necessary materials. She made her first flower from an online video tutorial, and now she makes them on her own. Rabiya gifts her creations to relatives or sells them at a local store, and with the money she earns, she buys new materials for her crafts. She studies well and successfully balances her hobbies with her studies," Cholpon added.
