During the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Seidbek Atambaev spoke about his visit to a museum that is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. According to him, the condition of the institution is extremely unsatisfactory: there has been no renovation in the last 20 years, the display cases are outdated, and the technical conditions may negatively affect children's education.

Atambaev noted that the museum houses unique exhibits that require the creation of a new building with proper climate control.

He also read a letter from the director of the Lomonosov Zoological Museum of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Orlova, which stated: "In 2014, our specialists familiarized themselves with the collection of alcohol-preserved specimens stored in your institute. This collection includes type series of new species of reptiles discovered in the territory of Kyrgyzstan and holds significant scientific value for studying the biological diversity of Central Asia. Preserving this heritage is extremely important, and we urge you not to leave this issue unattended. It is an invaluable contribution to the preservation and inventory of the biological resources of the region." The deputy also conveyed a request to preserve the amphibians and reptiles located in the Institute of Biology.

Additionally, Atambaev reported that a similar appeal had been received from the Kazakh Institute of Zoology. "The preservation of the herpetological collection will be an important step for your institute in the development of zoological science both in Central Asia and in Northern Eurasia. We are ready to provide any consulting assistance to the staff of your institute," concluded the deputy while reading the appeal.
