From March 20 to April 10, 2026, a large-scale agricultural census will take place in the Kochkor district of the Naryn region, as well as in other regions of the country.

The head of the Kochkor district department of state statistics, Zhakshylyk uulu Zamirbek, reported that the initiative was launched based on recommendations from the UN Statistical Commission. For the first time in the country's history, the census is being conducted entirely in electronic format, which is a significant step forward.

The main objectives of the census include:

- collecting objective and accurate data on the state of the agricultural sector;

- ensuring that statistics comply with international standards;

- creating a database for making informed decisions in agricultural policy.

All participants in agricultural production will be accounted for in the census: state and collective farms, farmers and individual entrepreneurs, as well as owners of collective gardens and plots. The collection of information on land use will be based on documentary evidence of ownership rights and land categories.

Each registrar will have a special badge with a unique QR code that verifies their authority.

The Kochkor district is characterized by significant agricultural potential, which is reflected in the structure of the census:

- The population is 70,850 people (12,187 households);

- Coverage includes 5 ayil districts and 35 settlements;

- The structure of the census consists of 2 coordination departments, 9 instructor sections, and 44 registration points.

The data obtained from the census will serve as the basis for developing master plans for regional development and forming a long-term food security strategy in the country.
