In Kyrgyzstan, there is an increase in meat prices, despite stable rates for livestock. This was reported by Erlis Akunbekov, who holds the position of Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, in his interview on UTRK.

Akunbekov noted that a significant portion of the income from meat exports goes to intermediaries, while the livestock breeders themselves remain without profit.

“In Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, the cost of one kilogram of beef ranges from 1200 to 1400 soms, in Kazakhstan it is about 1100 soms, while in Kyrgyzstan the price is only 650-750 soms. The ban on meat exports does not affect the animals, as it is the intermediaries who handle the export. Over the past three months, 53,000 head of livestock have been exported, but our producers have not benefited from this,” the minister emphasized.

To address this situation, the creation of 10 clusters is proposed, for which 1.5 billion soms have been allocated. This should help livestock breeders access the market directly, ensuring them income and allowing them to offer consumers quality products.
