Among these projects stands out the NEOM Stadium, which will be located at the top of a 350-meter tall skyscraper. The stadium, capable of accommodating up to 46,000 spectators, will be a key element of the ambitious project "The Line".
"The Line" is a smart city stretching 170 km and 200 meters wide, with buildings reaching heights of 500 meters. Developers claim that NEOM Stadium will be "the most unique stadium in the world," offering stunning views and a field integrated into the architecture of the skyscraper. Autonomous high-speed trams and personal transport will be used for movement within the area.
The other stadiums for the World Cup will be located in cities such as Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar, and Abha. Each will have its own architectural style, including vibrant color schemes and structures made from crystalline materials and local resources.
Saudi Arabia remains the sole candidate to host the tournament, and FIFA has officially confirmed it as the host country for the 2034 World Cup. This will be the third World Cup held in Asia in the 21st century, following the tournaments in Japan and South Korea (2002) and Qatar (2022), as well as the first standalone event since 2022.
Work on the "The Line" project began in 2021; however, the completion of the entire complex is planned only for 2045, 11 years after the World Cup. It is currently unclear whether NEOM Stadium will be included in the final plans for the city's development, but conceptual renderings have already attracted the attention of many fans.
The construction and renovation of all stadiums will take nearly ten years, and the attention of the global football community will focus on them as the championship approaches.
