The world championship title in the super middleweight division has been vacated from Terence Crawford by the decision of the WBC. The main reason for this step was the failure to pay mandatory fees that the boxer was supposed to submit for his recent fights, including his bout with Canelo Alvarez.

According to the organization, Crawford was offered a reduced rate for payment, but he did not fulfill this condition. As a result, the WBC declared the title vacant.

Crawford reacted emotionally to the Council's decision, stating that he "might give up this belt" and accusing the organization of unfair treatment.

The WBC has already organized a match for the vacant title between Hamza Shiraz and Christian Mbilli, and the winner of this fight will become the new world champion in the weight category up to 76.2 kg.
