The award ceremony took place in the Batken region, organized by the authorized representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Aibek Shamenov. The event was attended by Zarina Asanova, an athlete from the Kyzyl-Kiy City Children and Youth Sports School and a student of BatGU.
In addition, Shamenov met with coach Zhenishbek Toktonazarov, who is training Begaim Akbalaeva, a member of the Kyrgyzstan national team in alysh (Kyrgyz wrestling) and a resident of the Birlik village in the Kadamjai district.
The head of the region congratulated the athletes on their outstanding achievements, thanking them for successfully representing the country and the Batken region on the international stage. He also noted that their successes serve as an inspiration for the youth, encouraging them to engage in sports and lead a healthy lifestyle, and presented them with gifts.
Zarina Asanova is a five-time champion of Kyrgyzstan and made a name for herself on the international stage last year, defending the honor of her country and region. At the World Boxing Cup in Montenegro, she won a bronze medal in the 70 kg weight category. At the Asian Championship in Colombo (Sri Lanka), she managed to take second place, earning a silver medal, and at the Asian Championship in Thailand, she finished third, also winning gold at the Kyrgyzstan Championship.
Begaim Akbalaeva, another outstanding athlete from the Batken region, showed excellent results, taking first place among girls in Kyrgyz wrestling at the Republican "Manas" Games in 2025. She also became the first at the KR Championship in classical wrestling in the belt category up to 60 kg, defending the honor of her region. Currently, Akbalaeva is participating in competitions abroad, so the gift was handed over to her coach.
