The Kyrgyz Football Union has submitted an official bid to the Asian Football Confederation to host the final stage of the Asian Cup for youth teams (U-23) in 2028.

Sixteen teams are expected to participate in this tournament, which will go through qualifying rounds.

In addition to Kyrgyzstan, bids to host the tournament have also been submitted by Jordan, Japan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Uzbekistan.

According to the KFU, an inspection visit by AFC representatives will take place in Kyrgyzstan from March 2 to 6, aimed at assessing the infrastructure and the country's readiness to host the tournament. The final decision on the host country will be made based on the results of this inspection and the submitted documents.

The Youth Asian Cup has already been held six times, hosting guests in countries such as Oman (2013), Qatar (2016, 2024), China (2016), Thailand (2020), Uzbekistan (2022), and Saudi Arabia (2026).

The Kyrgyz team has reached the final round of this tournament once, but was unable to advance past the group stage in Saudi Arabia.
