Bicycle team from Kyrgyzstan held its first race in Europe

The Lokomotiv Manas cycling team from Kyrgyzstan marked its debut start in the new season.

On March 4, the one-day race Umag Classic took place in the Croatian city of Umag, covering a distance of 142.3 km with an elevation gain of about 1200 meters.

A total of 155 riders participated in the competition, of which 133 successfully completed the distance.

The best result for the Kyrgyzstani team was shown by Russian Viktor Bugaenko, who finished in 31st place.

He was followed by: Daniil Zarakovsky (Russia) in 33rd place, Yegor Igoshyev (Russia) — 41st, Nikita Bersenev (Russia) — 59th, Grigory Skornyakov (Russia) — 124th, and Mukhamed Ali Matkarimov from Kyrgyzstan — 132nd place.

According to information from the Cycling Federation of Kyrgyzstan, the team's sprinter Skornyakov was involved in a crash 3.5 km before the finish.

The next race for the team is scheduled for March 8 in the city of Poreč (Croatia).
