At the tournament in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz wrestler in Greco-Roman style Akjol Mahmoudov faced Olympic champion from Japan Nao Kusaki. The match could be viewed on wrestlingtv.ru.
In the weight category up to 82 kilograms, Mahmoudov achieved a confident victory, finishing the match with a score of 19:6.
It is worth noting that this is not the first meeting between these athletes: they previously faced each other twice, where Mahmoudov won at the World Championship, and Kusaki took revenge at the Asian Championship.
In other matches of the tournament, Sezim Jumanaazarova defeated Laylokhon Sobirova from Uzbekistan, Abdymalik Karachov won against Osman Sultanov, Omurbek Asan uulu was stronger than Chermen Tavitov, while Kadyr Keneshov lost to Gasan Gasanov, and Nursadyk Nurdinov was defeated by Arip Abdulaev (all from Russia).
