Akzhol Makhmudov will compete at the Asian Championship in Bishkek

Akjol Makhmudov will represent Kyrgyzstan at the Asian Wrestling Championship, which will take place in 2026.

The competitions are scheduled for April 6 to 12 in Bishkek.

According to the Wrestling Federation of Kyrgyzstan, Makhmudov has joined the national team and will compete in the weight category up to 77 kilograms.

Earlier, at the end of February, the athlete participated in a ranking tournament in Albania, where he competed in the weight class up to 82 kg.

Before the Asian Championship, the wrestler will also step onto the mat to participate in the PWL 11 tournament, which will be held on March 27 in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). His opponent will be Olympic champion Nao Kusaka from Japan.

Akjol Makhmudov has extensive experience in adult Asian Championships, where he has managed to win three gold and one silver medal.

In the final of the tournament held in 2024 in Bishkek, he lost to Kusaka.
