CEC: Nearly 6,000 voters from special categories participate in the elections to the Housing Committee

Member of the Central Commission for Elections and Referendums Akbalyk Jumalieva presented data on the involvement of special categories of voters in the early elections for deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh on November 30.

According to the information provided by Jumalieva, there are 5,858 registered voters in Kyrgyzstan belonging to special categories, including:

    • 844 individuals in 11 military units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs,

    • 1,379 in 45 temporary detention facilities (IVS),

    • 5,644 military personnel and 2,793 family members serving in units of the Ministry of Defense,

    • 103 individuals are part of the military unit of the State National Security Committee (GKNB), while 105 are in its detention facility,

    • 2,043 individuals are placed in institutions of the State Penitentiary Service (GSIN),

    • 1,395 patients are in four psychiatric institutions under the Ministry of Health,

    • 1,781 individuals reside in 17 stationary social institutions under the Ministry of Labor.

Among these voters, 2,051 individuals have disabilities, including 1,698 persons over the age of 18 and 760 citizens recognized as legally incompetent by a court.

On this day, voting is taking place in Kyrgyzstan as part of the early elections for deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, with 460 candidates participating.

The country is divided into 30 districts, and three deputies will be elected from each district, depending on the number of votes received.
