Akhmatova Raikul Shaimukhametovna

Applied artist. Honored Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic. Born on May 14, 1950, in the city of Frunze. In 1972, she graduated from the Kyrgyz State University, and then in 1979 from the Frunze Art College. From 1979 to 1987, she worked as an artist in the Ministry of Local Industry, and in 1987 she became an artist-teacher of Kyrgyz decorative and applied arts at the Republican Center for Aesthetic Education. Associate Professor of the Department of "Decorative and Applied Arts" at the Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transport, and Architecture.

Since 1990, she has been a member of the Union of Artists of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Working in the traditional technique of Kyrgyz folk art known as ala-kiyiz, she creatively reinterprets the artistic heritage, demonstrating a fine taste and imagination, creating felt panels with deep imagery. The artist often incorporates unconventional materials (canvas, Cuban hemp) into her compositions. The rough texture of these materials enhances the warmth and softness of the felt. She has participated in national and international exhibitions. Her works are held in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after Gaitiev, in the Directorate of Exhibitions and Panoramas (Moscow), as well as in private collections in the CIS and abroad.
