The work of the deputies of the VIII convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh has begun.
Deputies took the oath, and currently, 87 people's deputies have been elected.
Among the decisions made are the approval of the structure of the Jogorku Kenesh, the appointment of the speaker, vice-speakers, and heads of various committees.
Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu has once again taken the position of the speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, having previously held this position in the last convocation.
The first deputy speaker is deputy Chyngyz Azhibaev, and the vice-speakers are Zhyldyz Talaybek kyzy and Karim Khandzheza.
Additionally, the deputies formed five new deputy groups: "Ata-Jurt," "Ala-Too," "Mekenchil," "Eldik," and "Adilet Kyrgyzstan."
The Minister of Science Baktyiar Orozov has been dismissed from his position.
The reason for the dismissal was violations of ethical norms.
Recall that Baktyiar Orozov was detained by traffic police inspectors for driving under the influence in the village of Koy-Tash.
He was appointed Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations in May 2025, previously holding positions as the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science, as well as Deputy Minister of Justice.
New leadership in the Ministry of Health.
At the end of November, two deputy ministers of health — Kaarmanbek Baidavletov and Bubuzhan Arykbaev — as well as the first deputy Manas Toktomuratov were dismissed.
Aybek Matkerimov has become the first deputy minister of health.
He was born on November 8, 1980, and is a graduate of the Issykkul State Medical Academy named after Isa Akhunbaev, the International University named after Kantoro Toktomamatov, and RANEPA. Previously, he was a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh of the VII convocation and was awarded the title of Honored Doctor of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Bakytbek Kadyraliyev and Ryspek Sydygaliev were also appointed as new deputy ministers.

Kutman Tursunkulov has headed the apparatus of the Jogorku Kenesh.
Deputies include Maria Isanova and Narynbek Kubatbek uulu.
The former head of the apparatus, Alaybek Alymbaev, is now an advisor to the speaker, while his deputies Elmira Eshenkulova and Iskender Sulaymanov have headed the departments of two parliamentary committees.
Akmatbek Kozhomkulov has been appointed as the deputy mayor of Kara-Balta.
Previously, he held leadership positions in the Ministry of Finance, the Bishkek city administration, and in local self-government bodies.
