June is the sunniest month of the year. Nature delights the eye: it is in all its glory. From June 21 to 25 are the longest days of the year. "In June, dawn reaches out to dawn," people say about this time of long days and short nights. June got its name in honor of the ancient Roman goddess of fertility, guardian of marriage, and ruler of rain, Juno.

The ancient Russian name is izok (grasshopper), cherven, multicolored. In Kyrgyz, this month was called kulja in ancient times.
