At the republican pedagogical meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov noted that the school reform represents not only educational changes but also civilizational transformations.

In his opinion, this reform directly affects what citizens will become and how society and the state will look in 20-30 years. It shapes not only professional skills but also civic maturity, responsibility, as well as the ability to work in a team and trust one another.

“The program for transforming school education is called ‘Altyn Kazyq,’ which translates to Polar Star. This is not just a beautiful slogan, but a guide for the entire country’s movement,” he emphasized.

The importance of recognizing the significance of this reform for the entire nation cannot be overstated. It is not just changes in school programs, but a choice of development path for Kyrgyzstan. That is why the discussions at this meeting touch not only on the education sector but also on the future of the country as a whole.

When considering the school education reform, it is essential to understand who is being referred to. These are not abstract generations, but specific children who are starting their education in the first and second grades across the country this year. Children born in 2019-2020 will be the first to go through a completely updated school system, living in a new educational logic.

It is expected that when these students graduate from school in 2036-2037, they will grow up in a completely different society.

That is why this generation has been named ‘Altyn Kazyq’ - Polar Star, which symbolizes not exclusivity, but a reference point around which the entire reform is built, Baisalov noted.

He also added that these children are not an experiment.

“They will be the future adults who will evaluate our decisions in 15-20 years,” he emphasized.

That is why we cannot postpone the reform, delay changes for many years, or act too cautiously. These children are already here, they are already learning, and the reform must begin immediately. It is important to note that this is not only about the first and second grades but about all the children who are currently studying in schools. No generation should be left behind, and no child should be left behind. The school reform is a step forward for everyone, not just for the chosen few,” concluded the Deputy Prime Minister.
