Schoolchildren from Kyrgyzstan won 11 medals at the Zhautykov Olympiad in Almaty

At the XXII International Zhautykov Olympiad in Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science (IZhO 2026), held in Almaty from January 10 to 15, the Kyrgyzstan student team won 11 medals: 2 gold, 3 silver, and 6 bronze.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Education, over 600 students from 16 countries participated in the Olympiad, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Russia, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Indonesia, India, and Uzbekistan. Kyrgyzstan was represented by 33 participants.

The medals were won by the following students:


Coaches: Ishmatov Mamat and Zholdubai uulu Bekzhol.


Coach: Baibayev Susarbek.


Coaches: Ignatiev Anatoly and Evgeny Kichak.


Coaches: Uraimov Kilychbek and Munduzbaev Aydar.


Coaches: Omurkanov Turgunbek, Sidorenko Andrey, and Almurza uulu Altynbek.

The Zhautykov Olympiad, held since 2005, is a prestigious international competition for school students in the fields of mathematics, physics, and computer science. It is named after the renowned Kazakh mathematician Orymbek Zhautykov and promotes the development of international ties and the popularization of scientific knowledge. Participants compete in a team format, earning medals and diplomas for their commendable performances.
