According to the mayor's office, the international boxing competition took place in the demonstration zone for winter sports of the SCO, located in Harbin. Five boxers represented Kyrgyzstan in the tournament, among whom were the strongest athletes from the SCO member countries.
“Eldiyar Tenisbekov from Tokmok became the champion in the weight category up to 67 kg, winning against a Russian opponent in the final. His compatriot, Aitbek Berdimuratov from Shopokov, won a silver medal, losing in the final to a boxer from China. In the category up to 57 kg, a bronze medal was won by Ilgiz Korgonbaev from the Alamudun district. All matches were held according to IBA rules,” the agency added.
The Kyrgyzstan team at the tournament was accompanied by coaches Altynbek Koshoyev and Kamal Toygonbaev. The competitions were held among boys born in 2007 and 2008,” the message specifies.
