During a conversation with Russian journalists, Putin touched upon the issue of the large number of trucks waiting to cross the border with Kazakhstan. This was reported by "Kommersant".

"Indeed, such a situation exists. The reason for this is that, at my initiative, the Customs Committee began conducting selective checks on the roads. In the process, it became clear that many of the trucks in question are crossing the border without the necessary documents," the president noted.

According to Putin, each truck must be accompanied by a specific set of documents agreed upon by both states.

"There aren't that many documents, but they are mandatory," emphasized Putin. "These must be papers that confirm the contents of the truck and indicate to whom the cargo is intended. From these documents, one can understand what the customs value is and what fees must be paid when crossing the border. When the checks began, it became obvious that the documents were missing! This is black import, which, excuse my expression, simply enters our customs territory! Russia is losing, I dare say, billions of rubles in revenue!"

Additionally, the president reported that he discussed this topic with the Kazakh leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

"He understood everything, there were no questions. We agreed that we would do everything possible to allow the trucks that have accumulated at our border and on the territory of Kazakhstan to start moving into Russia. Our customs authorities agreed that the value of the transported goods would be declared and the final recipient indicated. Gradually, we will let these trucks through. There will be no queues... Let them at least pay something at the start! And starting next year, our customs will require all necessary documents during selective checks. You understand, a truck can carry everything: from nails to diamonds and televisions! But let them at least declare shoelaces for five kopecks, let them start paying something! I believe that by the end of the year there will be no queues," added Putin.

We remind you that among the trucks stuck at the border are goods from Kyrgyz tailors.
