As reported by the head of the Department of Crop Production, Horticulture, and Cooperation of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan, Turat Idirisov, on the air of the program "Elden Sobol," the harvest of sugar beets is capable of fully supplying the country with sugar.
He added that considering the stocks left from last year, the current sugar harvest will be sufficient.
Last year, the republic harvested a record 957 thousand tons of sugar beets. This year, although the harvest is somewhat smaller, they are collecting from 380 to 450 centners per hectare, while last year this figure exceeded 600 centners. Weather conditions were the reason for such changes, noted Idirisov.
Additionally, he mentioned that the final stage of sugar beet harvesting is concluding in the Chui Valley.
