According to resolution No. 2026-P-12/6-1-(NPA), the action of the previous National Bank resolution No. 2022-P-33/45-2-(NPA) "On Temporary Solutions in the Field of Foreign Currency Exchange Operations" dated July 22, 2022, is suspended until August 1, 2026.
It is important to note that the document, the action of which is suspended, contained the following conditions for commercial banks in Kyrgyzstan:
when conducting operations with exchange points, it was necessary to limit the amounts of cash and non-cash foreign currency purchases and sales within the turnover of the exchange point for one calendar day;
weekly reporting to the National Bank was required by 14:00 on the Monday following the reporting week;
banks were obliged to provide information on currency exchange operations conducted at the end of each month by 16:00 on the next working day.
As for the exchange points:
- they were prohibited from conducting operations for the sale and purchase of cash foreign currency with commercial banks within one day for amounts exceeding their turnover;
- when conducting operations with banks for the sale and purchase of currency, exchange points were required to provide written confirmations, signed by the manager, regarding the amount of turnover at the end of the previous day and/or at the beginning of the current day, along with a receipt from the cash register.
