During a session of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Altynbek Kylchayev proposed the establishment of a solar panel manufacturing plant in Kyrgyzstan. He emphasized that investments are currently being actively attracted for the installation of such panels.

The parliamentarian noted that the main raw material for production is quartzite, of which the country has reserves of about 340,000 tons. According to him, requests for the installation of solar panels are coming in from various regions. The implementation of the project will require approximately 1 billion dollars, which will also create additional jobs for 6,000 people.

Kylchayev added that the Ministry of Energy should consult with other government agencies on this matter.

In addition, the deputies are considering changes to the draft law "On Renewable Energy Sources." According to the new proposals, companies operating in the field of renewable energy will be required to allocate 1% of their revenues from electricity sales to local budgets. Additionally, investors will need to install energy storage systems that will constitute at least 30% of the installed capacity of their facilities.
