At a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with industrial policy, transport, the fuel and energy complex, architecture, and construction, deputies adopted amendments to the law "On Renewable Energy Sources" in the second and third readings.

According to the changes, instead of allocating 1% of the total volume of produced energy to local self-governments, as provided for in the current legislation, renewable energy facilities will now be required to transfer 1% of their revenue from electricity sales to local budgets.

Furthermore, the bill requires that facilities using solar and wind energy for electricity generation install energy storage systems with a capacity of at least 30% of their installed power.

The document also states that within the framework of an investment agreement or a public-private partnership contract, it is possible to establish a maximum tariff in foreign currency during the preferential tariff period.
