The Ministry of Energy of the republic noted that this project will be the largest in the field of solar energy, and its implementation will significantly enhance the energy security of the country.

An agreement for the construction of two solar power stations with a total capacity of 500 megawatts was signed between the government and a local company.

As part of the project, one power station with a capacity of 250 megawatts is planned to be built in the Ahsht district of the Sughd region and a similar station in the Jaihun district of the Khatlon region. The investor is committed to completing the design, construction, and commissioning of the facilities by the end of 2026.

The emergence of new solar capacities is expected to help reduce the seasonal electricity deficit, especially in the winter period, as well as decrease the load on the energy system, which will enhance the stability of electricity supply for both the population and the economy.
