In Kyrgyzstan, an agreement on public-private partnership has been signed, which involves the construction of a new tunnel "Kelechek" at the Too-Ashuu pass. The project, which will cost 640 million dollars, will be fully financed by a private partner. The length of the tunnel will be 11.5 kilometers, providing safe and year-round communication on one of the country's main transport routes. This information was provided by the press service of the National Investment Agency.

The agreement was signed on December 2 between the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the National Investment Agency, and a consortium led by LLC "Tez Zhol." The project also plans to construct two toll stations, as well as two small hydroelectric power stations with a total capacity of 31.3 MW and the implementation of a modern tunnel management system.

The tunnel will be located at an altitude of approximately 2,200 meters. The implementation and operation period of the tunnel will be 49 years.

This project was approved by a cabinet resolution and will become one of the largest infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing the resilience of the country's transport system. The Center for Public-Private Partnership will ensure transparent oversight of the construction process.
