The first solar power plant in the history of Kyrgyzstan has been launched in Kemin

In Kemin, the launch of the first solar power plant in the history of Kyrgyzstan took place, marking an important event for the country. The opening ceremony was attended by President Sadyr Japarov, as reported by his administration's press service.

The power plant, with a capacity of 100 megawatts, occupies an area of 230 hectares. The project was implemented with the involvement of a Chinese investor, with a total investment amounting to $56 million.


During his speech at the celebrations, Japarov emphasized that the development of solar and wind energy is of key importance for Kyrgyzstan's energy strategy, alongside the construction of hydroelectric power stations.

He also noted that the launch of the first solar power plant marks a new stage in creating a modern, sustainable, and diverse energy system for Kyrgyzstan.
