As reported by Forbes Kazakhstan, "Freedom Bank Kazakhstan" has decided to abandon the creation of a subsidiary in Kyrgyzstan.

At the moment, the bank does not plan to open a new division in this country, which is related to the updating of its international strategy. However, "Freedom Bank" continues to consider long-term opportunities in the region and is focused on analyzing other foreign markets that were identified during recent meetings and trips by the bank's management. These new directions are currently in the stage of study and development.

Previously, news reported the bank's intentions to open a subsidiary in the Kyrgyz Republic, which was to operate as a closed joint-stock company under the name Freedom Bank KG.

Currently, "Freedom Bank Kazakhstan" already has representations in Kyrgyzstan: the holding's subsidiaries provide brokerage (Freedom Broker) and payment services (Freedom Pay Kyrgyzstan), as well as ticket sales (Ticketon Events KG).

The founder and majority shareholder of Freedom Holding Corp. is Timur Turlov. Over the past two years, the company has expanded its business interests into new countries, including Turkey, Georgia, Tajikistan, and Estonia.

Turlov owns approximately 70% of the shares of Freedom Holding Corp. and ranks second on the list of the 75 wealthiest people in Kazakhstan.
