In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, work continues on the major renovation and modernization of the hotel complex "Dostuk" and the tourist complex "Sayakat." According to the Directorate under the Office of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, significant foreign investments have been attracted for these projects. In particular, a Russian company has invested $5 million in the "Sayakat" project, while between $15 to $25 million will be allocated for the complete renovation of "Dostuk."
Previously, both hotels were in a dilapidated state, with worn-out engineering systems and emergency conditions of electrical networks, which posed a fire safety threat. As part of the agreements being implemented, investors will carry out a complete modernization of the facilities: roofs, facades will be updated, and heating, water supply, and sewage systems will be modernized. Additionally, modern energy-saving equipment that meets international safety standards will be installed.
An important aspect of the projects is their legal and financial arrangements. After the hotel "Dostuk" came under state control, 35.59% of the shares, which were previously owned by a private shareholder, were returned. Although the hotel will not operate during the renovation, the investor has committed to paying rent of 40.8 million soms per year. In the future, a significant increase in these payments is expected: from the end of 2027 — up to 80.5 million soms, and from 2029 — to a record 100.9 million soms annually.
This agreement has become one of the most economically justified in the entire history of the hotel complex. It is expected that upon completion of the work, "Sayakat" and "Dostuk" will transform into modern architectural landmarks that will take their rightful place in the appearance of the capital and provide a high level of service for visitors.
