Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Mahabat Mavlyanova raised the issue of the difficulties faced by domestic producers in Kyrgyzstan when trying to get their products on the shelves of large hypermarkets. This was discussed at a meeting of the parliamentary committee, where a new version of the "On Competition" law was considered.

According to Mavlyanova, the high requirements of retail chains and significant trade margins make cooperation with large retailers practically impossible for many local producers.

“It is difficult to get on the shelves of large grocery chains and hypermarkets. Sometimes the requirements are excessive, and the margins are too high. This creates serious obstacles for most domestic producers,” the deputy emphasized.

In response to the deputy's comment, Aibek Mamyraliyev, chairman of the Antimonopoly Regulation Service, stated that the legislation partially regulates this issue. He noted that there is a Law "On Internal Trade" for large retail chains, which establishes the basic conditions for working with suppliers.

“With the adoption of the new law 'On Competition,' we will be able to further regulate this area. Establishing special barriers for suppliers may be seen as a restriction of competition,” Mamyraliyev added.
