The Deputy Minister of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic, Zhibek Duyisheeva, is participating in the 70th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women, which is taking place from March 9 to 13, 2026, in New York, USA.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Finance, the Kyrgyz delegation for the ministerial week includes representatives from various government agencies, including the Ministry of Finance. This underscores the active participation of the ministry in international discussions regarding the promotion of gender equality, women's empowerment, and the socio-economic aspects of sustainable development.
Several high-level events are planned as part of this initiative:
- ministerial roundtables on the topics of "Ensuring and Expanding Access for All Women and Girls to Justice" and "Achieving Gender Equality and Empowering Older Women";
- a high-level meeting dedicated to violence against women;
- an interactive dialogue aimed at promoting women's participation in public life and decision-making processes;
- general debates on the implementation of commitments made under the Beijing Platform for Action and the outcomes of the 23rd special session of the UN General Assembly.
The Kyrgyz delegation is headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Edil Baisalov, who represents the country's position at key meetings of the session.
Deputy Minister of Finance Duyisheeva actively participates in high-level meetings and working events of the Commission, thereby ensuring the representation of the Ministry of Finance on the international stage and the ministry's involvement in discussions on pressing issues that have significant financial, economic, social, and legal implications for the Kyrgyz Republic.
The ministry's participation in CSW70 contributes to strengthening ties with international organizations, sharing experiences, and promoting Kyrgyzstan's positions in gender-oriented public policy and socio-economic development.
