The Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, dealing with agricultural policy, water resources, ecology, and environmental protection, held a meeting to discuss the progress in implementing the law "On Organic Production."
The Director of the Department of Processing Industry and Organic Agriculture, Mukhtar Chynaliev, presented information on this issue. He reported that the ministry had prepared several subordinate legislative acts to make the implementation of the law possible. In particular, rules for the certification of organic products and a guarantee system were developed. The Program for the Development of Organic Production in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2025-2029 was also approved.
The main goal of the program is to create optimal legal, economic, and social conditions for producers of organic products through state support, the implementation of a certification system, and the enhancement of the competitiveness of goods in international markets.
During the discussion, deputies pointed out existing problems with the implementation of the law and proposed a number of improvements. For example, Mahabat Mavlyanova emphasized the importance of developing organic agriculture and suggested creating a specialized department, as well as ensuring the presence of agronomists in every rural administration of the republic.
Nilufer Alimjanova inquired about programs aimed at increasing farmers' interest in organic production. Alisher Kozyuev raised the issue of mechanisms for certifying organic products. Azizbek Tursunbaev highlighted plans for building biofactories in Chui and Jalal-Abad regions and their potential production capacities. Umbetaly Kydyraliev added that it is necessary to discuss the creation of a unified register of organic product producers.
In addition, the committee reviewed the progress of the resolution of the Jogorku Kenesh "On the Environmental Action 'Green Kyrgyzstan'," adopted on March 17, 2022, under number 137-VII, as well as preparations for events planned for 2026.
