Kyrgyzstan will become a platform for assembling cars from 'AvtoVAZ'

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has begun active financing of joint industrial initiatives within the EAEU. A member of the EEC Collegium for Industry and Agriculture, Goar Barsegyan, reported that official approval has already been received for five major projects, while seven applications are in the final stages of approval and are highly prepared.

For Kyrgyzstan, initiatives that will be implemented on its territory, as well as in Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia, are particularly important. The focus is on strategically significant industries, including food and light industries, as well as heavy and railway engineering. A vivid example of such cooperation will be the localization of car production in Kyrgyzstan with the participation of "AvtoVAZ" and leading Belarusian companies in the field of engineering.

According to an EEC representative, the preferential financing mechanism was originally developed to support small and medium-sized businesses. However, as practice has shown, large companies are also interested in this program. Support tools help enterprises in the "five" countries to integrate their technological chains and create products with high added value.

The prospects for the union look very optimistic. Goar Barsegyan noted that by the end of 2026, it is planned to increase the number of approved and financed projects to twenty. This financial support is expected to be a powerful stimulus for industrial growth in EAEU countries and accelerate the process of import substitution in key sectors of the economy.
