The President of the Kyrgyz Republic recognized Eldik Bank as the successor of the savings culture of Kyrgyzstan

In accordance with the decree of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov No. 302, which was signed on October 30, 2025, OJSC "Eldik Bank" received the status of a successor to the traditions of savings that began in the republic in 1925.

This decree emphasizes the significance of Eldik Bank in preserving and developing the traditions of financial responsibility and thrift that have been formed over the century. The main task of this decision is to support the historical legacy and strengthen the financial culture among the citizens of Kyrgyzstan.

Cultural Heritage

The first savings banks in Kyrgyzstan appeared in 1925 in the cities of Osh and the Jangi-Jol district, marking the beginning of a rich history of savings in the country: here residents could not only store their finances but also make transfers and engage in securities transactions.

In Bishkek, then Frunze, one of the first savings banks was located at the intersection of Soviet and Frunze streets. This building has been preserved to this day, and its facade bears an inscription about the possibility of investing funds.

During the Great Patriotic War, savings banks actively supported the front by conducting public lotteries.

After the war, savings banks became a symbol of citizens' trust in the state. People not only saved but also participated in lotteries with winnings based on deposits.

In 1963, savings banks were transferred to the management of the State Bank of the USSR as an independent institution, becoming an important part of the lives of Kyrgyz citizens. They were trusted, knowing that here they could not only save money but also receive a wide range of services.

The year 1987 was a turning point: savings banks in the republic transformed into the Kyrgyz Republican Bank of the Savings Bank of the USSR, becoming a powerful financial institution.

Transformations of Savings Institutions

1987 - transformation into the Kyrgyz Republican Bank of the Savings Bank of the USSR;

1991 - transformation into Commercial "Kyrgyzelbank";

1996 - liquidation of "Kyrgyzelbank";

1996 - establishment of AOOT "Calculating and Savings Company";

1997 - AOOT "Calculating and Savings Company" became the agent of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic for the restoration of citizens' savings deposited in "Kyrgyzelbank";

2008 - OJSC "Calculating and Savings Company" was renamed OJSC "RSK Bank";

2024 - OJSC "RSK Bank" was renamed OJSC "Eldik Bank".

Eldik Bank proudly continues the traditions of savings in Kyrgyzstan, preserving the experience of its predecessors and the valuable legacy of trust, leading to a successful future.

“The status of Eldik Bank as a successor to the culture of savings is not only a high responsibility but also a great honor before the people. We are the guardians of a century-old history of trust and thrift, and it is important for us not only to preserve this legacy but also to develop it through innovation and customer support. Within the framework of the Presidential Decree, we are implementing an extensive program of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of savings in Kyrgyzstan, including initiatives to enhance financial literacy and strengthen trust in the banking system,” said the Chairman of the Board of Eldik Bank Ulanbek Nogaev.
