Aidar Gyazov has left the position of rector of BatSU

The rector of Batken State University, Aydar Gyiazov, has left his position.

As reported by Turmush, on December 24, 2025, he bid farewell to the staff. According to some sources, the corresponding order regarding the personnel decision has been signed.

In September 2025, the president Sadyr Japarov signed a decree under which three state universities were reorganized by merging with Kyrgyz National University.

The Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to align its decisions with the decree. Batken State University (BatSU) was established in 1999.

At the end of April 2025, Turmush wrote that the rector of Batken State University, Gyiazov Aydarbek Toktorovich, submitted a resignation letter.

He himself confirmed the information about the letter. However, the official order relieving him of his duties had not been signed at that time. Gyiazov stated that he wrote the resignation letter due to family circumstances.

He was elected rector of Batken State University in 2021.

Deputy Kamila Talieva ("Ata-Jurt Kyrgyzstan") reported on April 23, 2025, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh that the Ministry of Finance discovered that officials embezzled 15 million soms received for contract-based education, and also spent 3 million soms on business trips. "This is an internal audit by the Ministry of Finance. If a private audit is conducted, even more violations will be revealed," she believes.



The GKNB reported on April 10, 2025, that facts of embezzlement of budget funds at Batken State University were established from 2020 to 2024.

Within the framework of the initiated criminal case under paragraph 1 of part 4 of article 210 ("Embezzlement and misappropriation of entrusted property on a particularly large scale") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, it was established that responsible employees of BatSU organized an illegal scheme for misappropriating funds paid by students for contract-based education, as well as unjustified payments for travel expenses by issuing fictitious documents.

According to the investigation, from 2020 to 2024, the funds paid by students for contract-based education in the amount of 17 million 322 thousand 500 soms did not reach the BatSU budget and were embezzled by responsible university officials.

Furthermore, the responsible university officials systematically made unjustified foreign travel payments to employees and students totaling 2 million 875 thousand 300 soms.

As a result of the audit conducted with the involvement of the Internal Audit Service of the Ministry of Finance, the identified damage amounted to 17 million 322 thousand 500 soms.
