“There are court decisions that must be enforced”
In an interview, Edil Baisalov, who holds the position of Deputy Prime Minister, shared his thoughts on the public's reaction to the decision to deprive Almazbek Atambayev of state awards.
“I am surprised that the president's decree caused such a strong reaction. This was not his personal decision. We are obligated to enforce the court ruling, and it would have been impossible not to sign this document,” he emphasized.
Baisalov also reminded that this decision was made back in 2019, when the Jogorku Kenesh stripped Atambayev of his status as ex-president and, consequently, all of his awards.
