In the city of Karakol, video reports about the situation at the ski resort are actively spreading. Visitors are sharing their impressions of how the road to the resort has become congested. "We encountered a huge traffic jam on the way to the base. In the end, we decided to turn around and go back, simply enjoying the picturesque landscapes along the way," they recount.

Meanwhile, those who have already arrived at the base are reporting long waits in line for ski passes, which can take from 30 to 60 minutes. A similar situation is observed at the cable car, where many people are also waiting for their turn.

According to information provided by the Traffic Safety Administration (TSA), the Karakol ski base receives about 3-4 thousand vehicles daily. For example, on January 2, 2026, around 4 thousand incoming cars were registered there. In this regard, to enhance traffic safety and prevent congestion, TSA employees are working in an intensified mode.

Drivers are strongly urged to adhere to traffic rules and follow the instructions of law enforcement officers.

According to the TSA of the Interior Ministry of the Issyk-Kul region, in the 2024-2025 season, it was reported that there were no traffic jams observed; however, the flow of vehicles towards the ski base is always significant. On January 3, 2025, about 1,000 vehicles entered the base, and on January 4, 1,100.

There is a shortage of parking spaces at the resort, so many tourists are forced to leave their cars along the main road. Additionally, there are no parking lots capable of accommodating a large number of cars near the approaches to the ski base.

In 2024-2025, the road connecting the city of Karakol and the ski base was reconstructed. The length of this route is 7.1 kilometers, and the width of the road after the repair reached 6 meters.
