Edil Baisalov, who holds the position of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, drew attention to the new visa measures that will come into effect on January 21, 2026, for citizens of Kyrgyzstan, introducing a deposit verification procedure.

According to the new requirements, when applying for a visa, applicants will be required to make a security deposit ranging from 5,000 to 15,000 dollars. It is important to note the following points:

Making a deposit does not guarantee the issuance of a visa. This measure is aimed at strengthening control over compliance with migration legislation.

In his comments, Baisalov expressed protest against the decision of the U.S. Department of State. He believes that in response to such actions, Bishkek should initiate a review of the visa-free regime for U.S. citizens. The politician emphasized the need to build relations between the two countries based on reciprocity and equality.
